Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Yasumemo (hereinafter referred to as "the App") is an iOS application provided by sheepboy (hereinafter referred to as "the Developer"). The Developer prioritizes user privacy and minimizes the collection of information. In principle, all data handled by the App is stored only on the user's device. However, only when the user voluntarily enables the optional "AI-assisted reading" feature, images of price tags are sent to the cloud for AI analysis (see Section 3 for details).

2. Data Collection and Purpose of Use

The App does not collect, transmit, or store personal information such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers on any external servers.

• Recorded Data: Information registered by the user, such as product names, store names, prices, notes, and icons, is stored exclusively within the secure local area of your device (e.g., SwiftData).
• Camera (Price Tag Photos): Photos of price tags are used to read prices and product names. By default, this reading is performed by on-device OCR processing, and captured images are not sent to or stored on the Developer's servers. (For cloud transmission when the "AI-assisted reading" feature is enabled, see Section 3.)
• Location: Location is used only to estimate the nearest store at the time of shooting and to register store locations. The obtained location is stored on the device and is not transmitted externally.
• Backup: If you use the standard iOS iCloud backup feature, data may be stored via Apple's infrastructure. The Developer does not have access to this data.

3. AI-Assisted Reading Feature (Optional, Off by Default)

The App includes an optional "AI-assisted reading" feature to improve the accuracy of price-tag recognition. This feature is off by default and operates only when the user turns it on in the settings.

• When off: All price-tag reading is performed by on-device OCR, and captured images are not transmitted externally.
• When on: Only for price tags whose prices cannot be determined by on-device OCR, the image of that price tag is sent to a cloud AI service (Google's Gemini / Firebase AI Logic) to analyze the price and product name. Only the price-tag image is sent; no personal information such as names or contact details is included.
• The handling of transmitted images by the AI service is governed by the privacy policy of that service provider (Google). The Developer does not store the transmitted images on its own servers.
• If you keep this feature off, no price-tag images are transmitted externally.

4. Network Communication

The App does not have its own backend server and does not transmit data externally for its basic functions. However, communication using external systems occurs in the following cases:

• Displaying and searching for stores on the map (use of Apple's MapKit / map services).
• Transmission of price-tag images to the AI service when the "AI-assisted reading" feature is enabled (Section 3).
• When the user voluntarily sends an inquiry via the mail app (bug reports, requests, or photos of price tags that could not be read). This occurs only through the user's explicit action.
• Standard system crash reporting (only if the user has consented to share this with developers via iOS settings).

5. Advertising and Analytics

The App does not include third-party advertising SDKs or tracking tools that monitor individual behavior.

6. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from any user, including children under the age of 13.

Terms of Use

Section 1 (Consent)

By downloading and using the App, users are deemed to have agreed to these Terms of Use.

Section 2 (Intellectual Property Rights)

All intellectual property rights, including copyrights and trademarks related to the App, belong to the Developer or the respective right holders. Replication, adaptation, reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling is strictly prohibited.

Section 3 (Prohibited Acts)

Users shall not engage in the following acts when using the App:

• Acts that interfere with the operation of the App.
• Acts that cause disadvantage, damage, or discomfort to the Developer or a third party.
• Any other acts deemed inappropriate by the Developer.

Section 4 (Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability)

1. The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The Developer makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, usefulness, or safety of the App. Prices and store information displayed or recorded by the App are based on user input and price-tag reading results, and their accuracy is not guaranteed.
2. Data management is the sole responsibility of the user. The Developer shall not be liable for any data loss resulting from the deletion of the App, loss or failure of the device, or inadequate backups.
3. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the App, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence by the Developer.

Section 5 (Service Suspension and Changes)

The Developer reserves the right to update the App, change its features, or suspend its distribution without prior notice.

Section 6 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising in connection with the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the Developer's place of residence as the court of first instance.
